Ana Isabel Alonso
Alonso is a long distance runner that represented Spain in 1988, 1996, and 2000 Summer Olympics. She ran different long distances and was successful in all categories. She also was awarded the Cross International de Venta de Banos three times - making her the only female athlete to accomplish this.
Mireia Belmonte
Belmonte is a current swimmer for the Spanish national team. She swims the medley, butterfly, and freestyle. In 2014, she won 6 medals at the European Championships and 4 at the World Championships making her debut as a world class swimmer.

Jennifer Hermoso
Hermoso plays soccer for FC Barcelona and Spain's National Team. She has been playing for the national team since 2011 and recently participated in the World Cup in 2015. Her position is striker.
Tania Lamarca
Lamarca was a Rhythmic Gymnast for Spain. She won Olympic medals in 1996 with the rest of her teammates at the Games (Gimenez, Baldo, Cabanillas, Gurendez, and Martinez). She has won the World Championships on 5 separate occasions - 3 times with the ball and twice with the ribbon.
Angeles Montolio
She was an accomplished, professional tennis player from Barcelona. In 2002, she was ranked the 22nd best played in the world. She won numerous small tournaments around Spain and in the early 2000s had two great performances at the US Open and Wimbledon.
Patricia Moreno
Moreno was a gymnast for Spain. She was the first ever artistic gymnast to place on the podium at the Olympics - In 2004, she received a bronze medal for her floor routine. She has a move named after her, the Moreno, which is a 3 and a half twist on the floor exercise. Afterwards, she also competed an impressive quadruple twist.
Blanca Fernandez Ochoa
Ochoa was an alpine skier and represented Spain in multiple Winter Olympics. She competed from 1980 to 1992. Her four sisters were also competitive skiers. Blanca has 4 golds, 20 podium finishes and 69 finishes in the top ten.
Cristina Pizarro
Pizarro is a football player that plays for in the First Division with Rayo Vallecano. She used to play for Atletico Madrid. She is a defensive player.
Arantxa Sanchez Vicario
Vicario was ranked the number one tennis player in the world and was a pioneer model for ladies in sport in Spanish society. In her career, she won countless Grand Slam singles and doubles titles. Vicario and Ochoa are two women noted for their determination in paving the way for women here.
