Thank you for checking out our blog. The purpose of this site is to analyze the role of women in Spanish sporting society. To accomplish this task we have conducted several in-person interviews with women who were raised here in Spain, with the intention of understanding their general feeling towards sport along with reasons why Spanish society may have developed this limited role of women in sport. We have also put together a large amount of research through secondary-sources to better enhance our understanding of women´s role in sport today.
Additionally, we will observe a local gymnastics gym here in Barcelona. We selected gymnastics because it is a sport typically dominated by women in the United States and it will be very enlightening to compare that role with the one it has received here in Spain.
Finally, our last post will attempt to use the information we´ve gathered and experienced during our time here to predict the future role of women and sports in Spain.
